Hello, my name is Ed Hauschild.
I’m a long-time Morris Plains resident and self-taught landscape painter.
My foray into the art world began with my early career as a carpenter and contractor. As a designer and builder of home additions and cabinetry, I enjoyed creating architectural blueprint drawings, floor plans and elevations for my projects. Today, however, I’ve traded my hammer and drafting table for a canvas and paint brush.
Now, my passion is painting nature scenes in all shapes and sizes, seasons, and colors. Most of the time I take inspiration from beautiful photos I discover online. I find it challenging and exhilarating to try and duplicate the beauty of the natural world. While I consider myself “self-taught,” I readily acknowledge the talented artists who share their knowledge and skill on the internet with whomever takes the time to explore their artwork. To each of them, I owe a debt of gratitude.
I’ve only been taking my painting seriously since September, 2022. I seem to be learning more with every brushstroke. Presently, I’m content with acrylics, my current medium. But in the future, I may venture into oils.
I want to thank my wife, Andy, for the love, patience, and support she’s shown to her new “artist in residence.” She’s been a Partner at Korn Hynes Advertising in Morristown for over 40 years, so she’s used to dealing with artists. We’ve been married for 27 years, have two sons, 9 grandchildren (another on the way), and 4 great grandchildren.
I have done several commissioned paintings for a number of people and will continue to do so when the opportunity arises.
I hope you enjoy my paintings as much as I enjoy creating them.
